Affirming RGC’s Global Role in Harm Prevention
The Responsible Gambling Council, founded in Canada over 40 years ago, is recognised worldwide for its work in reducing gambling-related harm. Its efforts span independent research, player education, and strategic partnerships with regulators, operators, and community organisations. The council said that taking part in the RTG Global Awards judging process fits perfectly with its mission to recognise and promote initiatives that place player protection and harm minimisation at the heart of industry growth.
Tracy Parker is no stranger to the world of gambling harm prevention. With nearly 30 years of experience in advancing social responsibility and sustainability, she has helped to develop and implement high standards for the industry. At RGC, she leads the development of robust accreditation and assurance programmes that help operators build safer gambling environments and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Paul Newson, principal at Vanguard Overwatch and founder of Regulating the Game, welcomed Parker’s appointment, describing her as a highly respected figure with a wealth of experience in implementing practical, evidence-based harm prevention standards. He added that her involvement would ensure the judging panel reflects the values of integrity, player safety, and sustainable industry development.
